Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

This permit is issued to Dr Bernhard Zipfel (Evolutionary Studies Institute) in collaboration with Dr Tina Lüdecke (Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Centre) to export 57  samples(1-5mg dental powder) of faunal material from Member 4 of Sterkfontein for isotopic analysis. It is noted that the analysis will be done at the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre, Frankfurt, Germany. 

Conditions:

  1. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers. 
  2. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of the permit holder or the Evolutionary Studies Institute. 
  3. The sampling will consists of 1-5mg dental powder of each specimen. A total of 57 samples will be collected. 
  4. The material must be hand carried or sent via a reputable professional courier service unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the repository, the Evolutionary Studies Institute. 
  5. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Dr Tina  Lüdecke (Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Centre) without the consent of SAHRA.
  6. Any material not subject to analysis must be returned to South Africa and written confirmation must be provided to SAHRA. .
  7. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA. 
  8. A Final Permit Report is due no later than 31 March 2020 which must be emailed to SAHRA at apmpermitreports@sahra.org.za
  9. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  10. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
