Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred onĀ Monday the 30th of October 2023.

This permit is only valid if accompanied by the attached Inventory of Permitted Objects Issued Under SAHRIS PermitID: 3002

  1. This permit only becomes valid fourteen calendar days after the published date (12/09/2019) in order to allow for the mandatory appeal period
  2. In accordance with the application received on 18 July 2019, should any appeal be lodged with SAHRA against the issuing of this permit within the fourteen-day appeal period, the permit will be suspended pending the outcome of the appeal.
  3. The permitted object(s) may only be exported once the permit becomes valid on the dates indicated below.
  4. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession
  5. numbers, and the name and address of the permit holder.
  6. The material must be hand carried or sent via a reputable professional courier service unless written
  7. instructions to the contrary have been received from the repository.
  8. The material shall be returned to South Africa on or before 30 September 2021 at the expense of the party referred to in the Loan Agreement.
  9. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before 30 October 2021.
  10. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  11. Terms of the Loan Agreement may not be changed after the permit is issued without the consent of SAHRA.
  12. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit;
  13. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder
