Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Renewal of expired Temporary export permit (no.80/10/01/018/62 and ref no.3/4/2/1/4/227)

Conditions: 

Extension of the temporary export permits No. 80/10/01/018/62 issued 19 February 2010 and PermitID 2224 issued 8 April 2016 for the purpose of exhibition of two therapsid specimens (SAM-PK-K10378 & SAM-PK-K10643) at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, 3535 Grand Avenue, Dallas, Texas under the supervision of Dr A Fiorillo. The specimens are accessioned by the Iziko Museums of South Africa, Cape Town.

Conditions:

1. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers of the Iziko Museums of South Africa, Cape Town.

2. During transport the material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the name of the site (if known), and the name and address of the permit holder or the respective Museum, in which it is accessioned.

3. The material must be hand-carried or sent via a reputable professional courier service.

4. Dr. Fiorillo is responsible for the safe storage of the material when abroad and its transport to and from the above mentioned institutions/collections.

5. The specimens must be kept for exhibition purposes only, and may not be sold or exchanged.

6. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than the above stated participants in the study, without the consent of SAHRA.

7. No destructive analysis or sampling may be undertaken.

8. A report on the condition of the specimen and storage facilities in terms of this permit must be emailed to apmpermitreports@sahra.org.za on or before 31 December 2021 and 2022, and a final report on or before 31 December 2023 using the template in the following link: https://sahris.sahra.org.za/content/apmpermitreports.

9. Copies of any papers that may result from the export of the material must be lodged with SAHRA.

10. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.

11. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.

12. Should any legal proceedings arise with regard to this permit or the transport and loan of the material, these proceedings must be addressed within the South African legislative framework.

13. Requests to renew permits must be done at least two months prior to the expiry of the existing permit.
