Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

SiteComments: 

Site no. 15 is the farm house on the farm Bakenlaagte, belonging to Mr. JH Jacobs. The house seems to have been built shortly after the Anglo-Boer War and therefore is older than 100 years. The style is Edwardian. The building is given a rating of medium cultural significance due to it not being very unique and due to it having been changed over the years. It nevertheless is a typical example of farm houses from this era.
