This permit is issued to Mr Wouter Fourie for the destruction of Sites TCHR4 and TCHR5 impacted by the TFC Smelter - 100MW Photovoltaic (PV) Plant. Mr Fourie will be monitoring the site while disturbance of the stone wall is undertaken on site.
- If Mr Fourie is not to be present on the site at all times, then SAHRA must be provided with the names and qualifications of the authorised representatives.
- Monitoring of the site by Mr Fourie, or a representative approved by SAHRA, is compulsory for the entire duration of the work undertaken.
- Adequate recording methods as specified in the Regulations and Guidelines pertaining to the National Heritage Resources Act must be employed. The position of all stones removed must be marked on a plan of site.
- A standard site record form must be lodged with the Department of Anthropology & Archaeology at University of Pretoria.
- All material collected and excavated, as well as field notes and records, will be curated by the Department of Anthropology & Archaeology at University of Pretoria, who will be responsible for the permanent curation and safekeeping of all artefactual material in a condition that allows ongoing research.
- A final report on the results of the excavations and analyses must be emailed to apmpermitreports@sahra.org.za on or before 31 December 2023.
- Reprints of all published papers or copies of theses and/or reports resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA.
- If a published report has not appeared within three years of the lapsing of this permit, the report required in terms of the permit will be made available to researchers on request.
- SAHRA acknowledges receipt of the Interim Permit report.
- SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
- SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
