Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

DistinguishingFeatures: 

(i) OPI CP6 pipe comprising bowl and stem. Stamp of a tulip on base of spur;
(ii) OPI CP463 pipe comprising bowl and part stem, decorated. CHipped and dark stained;
(iii) OPI LC/2 pipe stem, decorated. Imprint of diamond fleur del on stem;
(iv) OPI CP23 pipe bowl. Roulette imprint;
(v) OPI CP407 pipe bowl with 17 stamped on it with crown. Has smoke stains.

The site from where the pipes were excavated was occupied between 1669-1732

CollectorComment: 

Pipes were excavated by UCT Archaeology and recently handed the items over to Iziko for curation.
