The application of organic residue analysis will help to identify the overall cuisine and the process of food within the Iron Age settlers. ORA is a well established method, which helped to identify a wide range of animal products within pottery, e.g. animal adipose, ruminant dairy fats, marine oils as well as plant oils, beeswax, wine, resins and spices. This approach will help to better understand the dynamics of food consumption, to fill gaps within the understanding of the usage of pottery and will give new insights in living habitats within and also between cultural groups.
