Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

History: The early nineteenth century parsonage was enlarged in 1914 by the Rev. A. H. Barnard and was the birthplace of the well-known heart surgeon, Prof. Chris Barnard and his brother Dr Marius Barnard.
Visual Description: S/s villa, hipped roof, triangular louvred ventilators, projecting wing on R with covered end gable & bay window with 3 shuttered sash windows. Verandah roof on timber posts, wooden brackets & pendants, balustrade

Site Features: Set far back behind tecoma hedge, garden. Long gravelled path from gate to entrance between clipped tecoma hedge. Palm tree, plane tree. 2 broken & 1 intact millstone.
