Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

History: Beaconsfield evolved after the finding of diamonds in 1870. It was first known as Dutoitspan.The corner-stone of this Victorian double-storeyed building of blue kimberlite was laid in 1881, but the building was only completed in 1888. The building was originally used as the magistrate's court of Beaconsfield.
