Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

History: This powder magazine is one of the largest and best preserved examples of its kind in South Africa. It was probably erected in two stages, namely between 1852 and 1862 and between 1864 and 1875.
Visual Description: TWO SQUARE PLANNED BUILDINGS BELOW A RIDGED AND PITCHED GABLED BUILDING WITH NARROW SLITS IN THE WALLS AND HIDDEN TIMBER DOORS. THE TWO BUILDINGS ARE COMPLETELY SURROUNDED WITH HIGH STONE WALLS. EACH BUILDING STANDS IN ITS OWN COURTYARD.
