Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

History: This L-shaped stone building was completed in 1849, shortly before the outbreak of the Eighth Frontier War (1850-1853). It was also used in times of peace, for example to store corn in 1857 during the so-called Xhosa Suicide.
