History: This neo-Gothic church building was officially opened on 30 September 1860. The tower, which was added in 1864, collapsed in 1877 and was rebuilt in 1880. The church is closely associated with the establishment of the Swartland congregation, as well as the founding of the town Malmesbury itself.
