History: This farm belonged to the De Jager Family, who also owned Palingsgat (Palingsfontein, Palingshuis) which was built in 1809 and rebuilt in 1814 after having been burnt down. One of the five sons of the original owner to Palingsgat built a bigger house on the hill overlooking the fountains and the bay, probably in the first half of the 19th century.
Visual Description: A single storey white washed farm house with thick walls and a saddle roof with straight end gable The roof was originally thatched but on one side the thatch has been replaced by asbestos sheeting. The one end has an external masonry staircase to the loft, while the other end originally had a bakoond, now removed. The sea-facing side facade has a full-length verandah with masonry pillars and a corrugated iron roof. The other side has a long narrow stoep. The solder is supported on yellow-wood beams and boarding. The roof trusses appear fairly recent. The windows are small 6 x 6 panes sashes with inside folding shutters. The main entrance from the verandah is a 4 panel door with a geometric fanlight.
There is a very long beam, possibly stinkwood, over the hearth. There are remains of wall paintings in the rooms.
