History: The St Andrew's Presbyterian Congregation was established in 1890 and its early history is closely interwoven with that of Germiston itself. The corner-stone of the present well preserved church building, which was designed in the neo-Gothic style, was laid by Lord Milner on 15 March 1905. The building was officially opened on 8 October 1905 by Lord Selborne, High Commissioner for South Africa and Governor of the Transvaal and Orange River Colonies.
