Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

This is the graveyard of the farm Rondegat. Although it has been used as recently as 1995, the graveyard dates back to at least the late 19th century with the earliest dated headstone being from 1896. A small number of graves that have only sandstone head and foot stones are also present. These may either predate the more formal graves or could be the graves of poor farm workers or servants.
