Site Comments:

The CVCS-3 Colonial Period cemetery is situated roughly 200m north of the proposed development alignment, and north of the dry stream section dividing the greater cemetery or the CVCS-2 and CVCS-3 burial grounds. The CVCS-3 cemetery measures approximately 70x65m in size and contains a 200+ conservative estimate of graves. Graves are again demarcated by varying types of grave markers, from formal granite, inscribed headstones, to clearly outline graves with inscribed headstones. The oldest identified, inscribed graves date to the late 1800’s with the youngest grave observed dating to 2002. Sections of the cemetery are characterized by unmarked earth mound graves, with settled grave mounds as an indicator of possible noticeable age. No indication of exhumation was identified within the CVCS-3 cemetery.
