Site Comments:

Another concentration of archaeological material is present immediately to the west of the existing entrance gate to the property. Here very weathered Early Stone Age flakes and cores are mixed with Middle Stone Age knapping detritus. It appears that episodes of soil deflation and pedogenesis have caused the two temporally disparate traditions to mix. Artefacts are eroding open, exposed by down slope wash, and are mixed with other colluvial debris.
