Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Site was probably also damaged during construction of the gravel road leading to the hotel (and the abalone factory)
Large numbers of shellfish have been deposited alongside the now buried pipelines. The majority of the shellfish comprises the limpets Scutellastra argenvillei, cymbula granatina, scutellastra cochlear, and some cymbula miniata. Small amount of black mussel (Choromytilus meridionalis) and even smaller amount of perlemoen (halliotis) also occur. Only one silcrete flake was found, while no ostrich eggshell or pottery was documented.
