Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

A few stone tools were observed outside the perimeter of the area demarcated for the construction of the lodge. These included two Earlier Stone Age hand axes (dating between 1,4 million and 250 000 years old), a Middle Stone Age core (dating between 250 000 and 30 000 years old) and two Later Stone Age flakes dating younger than 30 000 years old (Figure 14, right insert). Earlier and Middle Stone Age
stone tools are found throughout the region and the Albany Museum houses a large collection from the Grahamstown area. The stone tools were in secondary context and not associated with any other archaeological material and are therefore of low cultural significance.
