Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Stone feature, but the exact size is not known. A large part of the accumulation. may is covered by dune sand and vegetation. The site is Local Grade IIIA site and of high significance. It should be retained.. No mitigation, no destruction. The site falls outside the footprint and is not directly under threat frorn the proposed development, but is directly under threat from the public. *; r";"il*gsffi $*fuF,** This one of the few remaini ng in situ stone features left along this part of the coast. It was sifuated high-up against a dune and is exposed to wind erosion. The size is unknown because a large part appears to be covered by sand and vegetation. It is estimated to cover about l() square metres and was 10-20 cm thick. The frre cracked stones were filled in by charcoal and fragmenis of shell which included mainly T. sarmaticzs, but C. oculus and S. argenviilei were also presJnt. Usually pottery is associated with these stone platfonns, none were found with this featu
