Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Site S3 is located immediately adjacent to the contemporary residence present on the proposed Hotel and Conference Centre development area. The site was not accessible at the time of assessment. The shingle and cement structure, with corrugated iron roof and at least some exterior fittings still in place is similar in design to other structures dating to the period of Umtiza management and development of the property, roughly dated to 1930-1950. The site is located in close proximity to a dam, inferred to date to the same period. The date of construction of Site S3 remains unknown, but is inferred to date to the period 1930-1950. Site S3 thus pre-dates 60 years of age and is by implication protected under the NHRA 1999.
