Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

This site is located near the edge of a ridge before the valley drops into the Tsomo River Valley. The site consists of several recent historical settlements that conform to the general settlement pattern . The site is over 600m long (north-south). There are eleven of the settlements that are clustered near each other and some have secondary wattle woodlots. Some of the settlements use natural rock outcrops as a “wall’. We did not observe any graves at the southern settlements, and did not survey the northern half of the site as it was well beyond the 50m buffer zone.
