Area 2 : The Area is characterised by dispersed scatters of Later Stone Age remains. Artefact scatters are often much larger than in Area 1 and towards the east of Area 2 scatters often seem to be distributed over large terrains. On average scatters approximate areas 10 x 10 m² with artefact ratios similar to Area 1. Many scatters also seem to have some shallow stratigraphic depth probably up to 15 cm, as can be discerned from road scrapings. A number of eroded streambeds are also present in Area 2. As a general rule artefact scatters follow stream beds. Some stratigraphic depth, but no sequence, could be discerned in stream beds displaying artefact members. These seem to be single members of assemblages with artefacts typologically similar to those of the surface.
