Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Small homesteads were located in the Project Area during the past few decades. These homesteads consisted of dwellings that were grouped together. Each cluster of homesteads may have contained as many as three to six or seven dwellings. These dwellings were constructed with stone and clay foundations on which clay and/or brick walls were constructed. All the residences were square or rectangular. They are associated with middens composed of ash, fragments of coal and modern household debris. The houses were probably covered with corrugated iron roofs.
