Site Comments:

The site consists of two stone walled circles and a stone cairn. The eastern circle is 5m in diameter and the entrance faces west towards the larger circle. The walling is very low. The inside of the circle is deeper than the ground level outside the circle. The larger circle is 7m in diameter and the entrance faces south, or uphill. The walling is ~1m high form the inside of the circle. The inside of the circle is deeper than the ground level outside the circle. The stone cairn appears to be a grave and this is located ~8m to the (south) west of the main circle. The grave is in a north-south orientation. The circles are cattle kraals and date to the Late Iron Age or Historical Period. No domestic structures were visible behind the kraals; however, that area has been disturbed by farming activity and erosion. Figure 72 shows the site and grave. The archaeological deposit is probably ephemeral Wind Turbine 33, and its access road occurs ~260m to the southeast of the site.
