The existing powerline crosses the main hill before it turns north towards the Turf shaft. This existing line goes through an extensive stone-walled site (Site 48) in the saddle of the hill. The style of walling and location indicate that Site 48 dates to the difaqane, the troubled times at the beginning of the 19th century.
