ProposalDescription:

Proposed adds and alts, 12 Bourke street, Pietermaritzburg, KZN

Expanded_Motivation:

I wish to submit this application as i was referred by Msunduzi municipality in order to get a letter of approval from Amafa. I renovated the above mentioned property not knowing that it had heritage significance, and after I was informed by heritage officer to stop any construction on site. I plead Amafa to be lenient to me and grant me an approval letter as I had no knowledge of procedures that had to be followed. When I bought this property in 2010,it was used as surgery in a bad condition. This building is used as a medical centre.Wh The refurbishments that were done are as follows: Altered veranda, which I had added a new ramp, floor tiling and existing corrigated iron roof was replaced with sheeting and suported by gavinezed steet post with signage on top. Brick wall was plastered and painted. All openings were replaced by aluminium frame window encasement and doors. Existing internal timber floors were replaced with concrete flooring and tile finishings. Outbuilding was also renovated since it was in a bad condition, but it was constructed in 2002 by late Dr Hlatswayo
