ProposalDescription:

Unauthorised Additions and Alterations of Erf 2995 being 5 Hampton Place, Durban North,4051

Expanded_Motivation:

Original date of transfer is 1947. This building holds no historical significance, it is an AMAFA listing by default, based on the fact that it is older that 60 years. There is no dominant style of architecture, it is a standard residential building with numerous architectural changes over time such as aluminium windows and doors, conversion of spaces and the addition of a flat roof. The propoerty is situated in the suburban area of Duran North and the adjacent neighbouring properties all contain residential buildings as well. To improve parking availability and allow for the pool to be visible from the main living/entertainment areas, for safety reasons, it is proposed that the pool is filled and relocated to the rear of the property (also allowing for more privacy from the street front) and that the driveway area be extended, this will include a new garden retaining wall. Due to the condition of certain windows, it is proposed to replace these with new and finally we proposed a garden tool shed to allow for additional storage.
