Status:

HeritageAuthority(s):

Case Type:

ProposalDescription:

To extend the existing cellar buildings and link the two with a mostly underground link. The roof and gable heights are remaining the same, the depths of each of the adjacent buildings are remaining the same and the link between the two buildings will be mostly underground, except for a concrete roof which shall be kept below the height of a new werf wall, in order to mitigate the visual impact from outside the modern werf.

Expanded_Motivation:

The modern cellar, built in 2010, does not form part of the historic core of the farm, and is located away from the immediate surrounds of any historic structures. It is our opinion that the addition in itself does not trigger any provisions of the N.H.R.A. We require your confirmation in this regard as proof to Drakenstein Municipality that the relevant heritage authority has been informed of the proposed addition.
