ProposalDescription:

Proposed Deviations to approved plans (No:102/09/13) at 351 Marine Drive , Portion 54 of ERF 81 BLUFF for Mr Somasundram & Mrs Theshni Kumarie Govender

Expanded_Motivation:

Dear Sharis/Amafa Subject : Motivation for Amafa Permit - House Govender - -Background- House Govender is situated in the Bluff at 351 Marine drive and is owned by Mr and Mrs Govender, the building has previously been upgraded and has gone through extensive renovations for the Govender family’s needs. -Brief History- The existing house was built around the mid 60's and the oldest plans that can be found in council’s records dates back to 1966, but a first evaluation was done in 1952 , so it’s not known if this was an evaluation of the land or an evaluation of the building , it’s hard to determine if the building is over the age of 60 years without any records or previous plans to determine a date of first construction prior to 1966. -Existing building before Renovations- The existing building before the renovations looked to be a very basic interpretation of Tuscan architecture but did not hold or carry any architectural significance or historical merit as the building had mixed styles and one could not quit tell the style of architecture due to all the add-on’s from the past , the building was in a very bad state(which can be seen in the attached pictures), and needed to be redesigned with keeping the existing structure but bringing through the Tuscan style. -Deviations to approved plans- The owner has decided at construction stage that certain changes would need to be made to the approved plans and has requested that a deviation plan gets drawn up , capturing all the necessary changes and presented to council for approval. We've currently obtained feed back from council outlining certain issues which we have already attended to , the last item was to obtain an Amafa Permit form SAHRIS , Once the permit has been issued the plans will then be recommended for approval. Note : The list of deviation can be seen on the attached deviation plans.
