Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

South Africa Mainstream Renewable Power Loeriesfontein 3 (Pty) Ltd received the original EA for the 100MW Loeriesfontein 3 Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Energy Facility (SEF) and Grid Connection infrastructure on 29 October 2012 (DFFE Ref: 12/12/20/2321/2). The EA was subsequently split into two separate EAs (1 for the 100MW PV SEF and 1 for the grid connection infrastructure), both dated 21 May 2021: The EA for the 132kV Grid Alignment and 132kV Eskom Portion of the shared on-site substation to service the 100MW Loeriesfontein 3 PV SEF (DFFE Ref: 12/12/20/2321/2/2) IS THE SUBJECT OF THIS REQUEST FOR COMMENT The validity of the split EA for the 132kV Grid Alignment and 132kV Eskom Portion of the shared on-site substation to service the 100MW Loeriesfontein 3 PV SEF lapsed on 29 October 2022, however, a Part 1 EA Amendment Application to extend the validity of the EA by 5 years (i.e., EA lapses on 29 October 2027) was submitted to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) on 26 October 2022. As part of the Part 1 EA Amendment Application, separate comparative assessments are required for the 132kV Grid Alignment and 132kV Eskom Portion of the Shared On-site Substation for the 100 MW Loeriesfontein 3 PV SEF DFFE Reference Number: 12/12/20/2321/2/2, The grid project is located on Portion 1 and Portion 2 of the Farm Aan De Karee Doorn Pan No. 213 as well as Portion 1, Portion 3 and Remainder of the Farm Sous No. 226. The grid project will comprise of a 132kV overhead powerline and an on-site 132kV substation (Eskom’s portion of the shared on-site substation) that will connect the Solar PV to the Grid (as authorised as part of split EA dated 21 May 2021 with reference: 12/12/20/2321/2/2)
