Status:

HeritageAuthority(s):

ProposalDescription:

Western Aqueduct will pass through an alleged historical road, and other historical buildings.

Expanded_Motivation:

The road has been referred to as a Voortrekker Road and there are some support road structures that will be affected. I do not believe these structures (in this specific area) are part of the original road, and are probably recent. In addition, the aquaduct will pass near historical structures but will not affect them in any manner. All railroad crossings will be through pipe-jacking, and thus not directly affect the railroad. Permission is requested for going through the road, and the client is requesting a general exemption .permit from sensitive sites along the pipeline. An ECO and HIA will be available for site inspections if needs be. Locations of sensitive areas have been indicated on Google Earth map The client requests an emergency permit or letter of permission as construction will begin shortly (see attached letter of motivation).
