Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

1. Crew member on site during filming will be John Kelleran (DP), Patrick Bradley (DP), Chris Ward (Audio), Joe Stramowski (Director), Brent LeRash (Field Producer), John Galli (Production Manager), Mikey Kay (Host), Rob Neuhold (Local Coordinator), Brendon Billings (Researcher).

Monitoring and supervision must be done on site by both or either Lindsey Smith (Assistant Director, Management Authority, Cradle of Humankind) and Dominic Stratford (researcher, University of the Witwatersrand), and by Lindsey Marshall (Marketing and Communications Manager at Maropeng) if possible.

2. Filming will take place in the Sterkfontein caves, and at Dr. D. Stratford’s closing down excavation site within the Sterkfontein caves.

3. Filming equipment consists of 2 C300 Cameras, 1 MOVI 5Dmkiii Camera, 1 Boom pole and Audio Mixer, and 2 1x1 LED Light Panels.

4. Filming will take place on 4 July 2015 between 13:00 and 16:00.

5. The amount of traffic, i.e. numbers of people on site, should be minimised as much as possible to avoid excessive disturbance of the site.

6. A report on activities related to the permit must be submitted to SAHRA on or before the 31 July 2016. SAHRA reserves the right to withhold further permits if a report is not received or is not satisfactory.

7. Copies of the filming resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA on or before the 31 July 2016.

8. SAHRA acknowledges the submitted landowner permission to film at the Sterkfontein caves.

9. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.

10. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
