Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Filming at Malapa Fossil Site for EBS documentary

Conditions: 

1. Crew members on site during filming will be Joon Sung Hwang (Director), Han Soop Kang (Cinematographer), Joo Heon Yeom (Camera Operator) and Yoon Seok Jin (Broadcast Coordinator).

2. Monitoring and supervision must be done by Prof. Lee Berger (Evolutionary Studies Institute, University of the Witwatersrand).

3. Filming will take place on the Malapa National Heritage Site.

4. Filming equipment consists of three cameras, one tripod, base plate, four large batteries, two lighting item and one wireless audio item.

5. Filming will take place between 26 February and 2 March 2018 (subject to change). Permission to film will be given until 31 March 2018 to accommodate changes.

6. The amount of traffic, i.e. numbers of people on site, should be minimised as much as possible to avoid excessive disturbance of the site.

7. A report on activities related to the permit must be submitted to SAHRA on or before the 31 March 2018. SAHRA reserves the right to withhold further permits if a report is not received or is not satisfactory.

8. Copies of the filming resulting from this work must be lodged with SAHRA on or before the 31 March 2019.

9. SAHRA acknowledges the submitted landowner permission to film at the Malapa NHS.

10. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.

11. This permit is subject to a general appeal and may be suspended should an appeal against the decisions be received by SAHRA within 14 days from the date of the permit. SAHRA may not be held responsible for any costs or losses incurred in the event of the suspension or retraction of this permit.

12. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit upon notice to the permit holder.
