Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

This permit is issued subject to the following conditions:-

1                 That the alterations, additions, and/or demolition are carried out strictly in accordance with the application received on 11 November 2016 and COOTE CLARKSON ARCHITECTS drawing no.: WIMS: 058811/C1.01, C1.02/, C1.03, C1.04, C1.05, & C 1.06, DATED: JUN 16;

2                 That, in the event of any contemplated deviation from the approved plans – including the transfer of the work to the supervision of another architect/technologist –a   written motivation in support of the deviations must be submitted to Amafa-aKwaZulu-Natali for consideration and t he prior written approval of Amafa aKwaZulu-Natali must be obtained, before any deviations are carried out;

3                 In the case of the demolition of a structure/s or part thereof, such demolition must take place not more than 30 days prior to the commencement of the new work, unless otherwise agreed to, in writing, by Amafa aKwaZulu-Natali;

4                 Any salvageable items not required for re-use in the project must be offered to the Amafa Conservation Materials Bank and all salvageable elements identified must be delivered to the Amafa Conservation Materials Bank, Pietermaritzburg, at the Applicant’s cost.

5                 Where archaeological material or human remains are uncovered during excavation, Amafa aKwaZulu-Natali must be contacted immediately in order to determine the significance of the find and mitigation required (a professional archaeologist may need to be employed).

6                 The issuing of this permit does not exempt the Applicant from obtaining the approval for the proposed work from the Local Authority or any other Authority, where required.

AMAFA AKWAZULU-NATALI RESERVES THE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW THIS PERMIT IF ANY OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE NOT COMPLIED WITH. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE CONDITIONS WILL RENDER ANY DEVIATION FROM THE ORIGINAL (PLANS) UNLAWFUL, AND AMAFA AKWAZULU-NATALI RESERVES THE RIGHT TO INSTITUTE CRIMINAL AND/OR CIVIL ACTION AGAINST THE PERSON/S RESPONSIBLE.
