Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation:

The old church was built in 1916 (plan approved) for the Seventh Day Adventist Church. A Sunday School Hall was built in 1929. The church had little adornment, architectural detail included a corner turret (which was either never built or partly demolished), a single stained glass window in the gable, simple pointed arched windows and side wall buttresses. Major alterations and additions were made in the 1970's, changing the Florida Road and 5th Avenue streetviews. The buildings have not been used as a church for a number of years and the area is no longer residential in nature. The current proposal is to convert the church and the old reading room to a restuarant and to put the kitchen in the sunday school room with a first floor addition to accommodate staff facilities. The property is on the corner of 5th avenue and Florida Rd, Dukkah restuarant is on the opposite corner, a petrol station is opposite on Florida Rd and a listed double-storey residential building is the NW neighbour.
