Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Special Notice

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

Cresco Energy (Pty) Ltd proposes the construction of a concentrated solar power(CSP) project known as the Noupoort CSP Project on the Remaining Extent of the Farm 207, Portion 1 and Portion 4 of the Carolus Poort 167, situated approximately 4 km to the north west of Noupoort. The proposed site falls under the jurisdiction of the Umsobomvu Local Municipality and is located within the greater Pixley ka Seme District Municipality in the Northern Cape Province. The contracted capacity of the Noupoort CSP Project will be up to 150MW with adevelopment footprint of approximately 290 ha in extent. The purpose of the proposed Noupoort CSP Project will be to evacuate the generated power into the Eskom electricity grid. The project is proposed to be bid into the Department of Energy’s (DoE) Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement (REIPPP) Programme.
