Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

The family who essentially owns the property have had it in the family for nearly a hundred years. The current owner want to develop the property to support retail business they are operating by building a warehouse storage facility where goods/ bulk stock which is purchased and which is sold at the retail store can be stored, sorted and packed before being sold at the retail store. The house is quite run down and is currently structurally unsound, with parts of the roof collapsing internally and many leaks present in the corrugated roof sheeting. There is no documentation or drawing available on the property and associated buildings but the house was built in the typical style of the time within lower income residential area of Clairwood as a simple brick and mortar building with a roof comprising of timber trusses and corrugated iron roof sheeting.
