Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

The Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipality is proposing the construction of the Sdangeni Access Road in accordance with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport standard engineering design for Local Roads or By Roads (Engineering Standard 7A).

Expanded_Motivation: 

The road alignment is approximately 1 000 m in length and includes: • A G6 gravel wearing course with a total with of 5.9 m (carriage with = 5 m; 2 x 450 mm G6 gravel shoulders); • A 2 x 1.5 m wide gravel shoulders • A meadow drain on the upslope side of the alignment; • Installation of pre-cast portal culverts at five (5) watercourse crossings. • Fencing. The project will trigger activities 12, 19 and 48 of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations Listing Notice 1, 2014 (GN. R 983 of 2014) and activities 4, 14 and 23 of EIA Regulations Listing Notice 3 (GN. R 985 of 2014) and is subject to an Application for Environmental Authorisation and Basic Assessment process. The authority responsible for considering the application is the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs.
