Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Delta Built Environment Consultants (Delta BEC) (Pty) Ltd has been appointed by the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) to undertake an Environmental Authorisation process for the proposed construction of the new SKA1 Mid Engineering Centre Building (EOC) at the SARAO Karoo Support Base on the Klerefontein farm 10 km outside the town of Carnarvon is located within the boundary of the Kareeberg Local Municipality, Pixley Ka Seme District Municipality, Northern Cape Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Delta Built Environment Consultants (Delta BEC) (Pty) Ltd has been appointed by the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) to undertake an Environmental Authorisation process for the proposed construction of the new SKA1 Mid Engineering Centre Building (EOC) at the SARAO Karoo Support Base on the Klerefontein farm 10 km outside the town of Carnarvon is located within the boundary of the Kareeberg Local Municipality, Pixley Ka Seme District Municipality, Northern Cape Province. SARAO is a National Facility of the National Research Foundation (NRF) has established it support base at Klerefontein. SARAO proposes expanding its infrastructure onsite where the current workshop will be developed to include a new office space, additional workshops, and the expansion of generator facilities and diesel storage facility. Associated infrastructure will include a Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) chamber, Hydrogen Intensity and Real Time Analysis eXperiment (HIRAX) prototype and telecommunications mast will also be developed.
