Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

C. SIGNIFICANCE: 1. Original date of construction/date of first approved plan: September 1947 2. Historical Significance : Historical cadastral : Sub 5 of sub A of Wandsbeck. The original lot was subdivided on the current North boundary. Nil 3. Architectural Significance: Designed by Frolich &Kiss Architects of 15/17 Holts Bldg, Smith st (1947) A double-storied house, plaster, painted facebrick and roof tiles. Steeply pitched roofs. A west wing, veranda and scullery have been added substantially altering the size of the house. 4. Urban Setting & Adjoining Properties: The house is set back from the road with a long driveway approach on the East side. The house is not viewed from the road except through the driveway gate. Neighbouring properties are similar size houses and gardens and varying styles. Queens road is one of the oldest roads in Westville with the oldest remaining structure “the Bergtheil Museum”. D.
