Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Upgrading of the N11 Section 13

Upgrading of the N11 Section 13 near Mokopane, Limpopo Province. The upgrading includes the improvement of the existing road and the replacement of the existing bridges over the Dorps; Rooisloot and Dithokeng rivers with new infrastructure.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The proposed project entails the upgrading and rehabilitation of National Route N11 Section 13 from Mokopane (Km 1,3) to the Grootsandsloot River (Km 24.0) in the Waterberg district. Road rehabilitation will include: • The rehabilitation of the existing road surface by upgrading sections of the single carriageway and expanding sections of the road as dual carriageway • Replacing the existing bridges spanning the Dorps, Rooisloot and Dithokeng rivers. • Construction of drainage channels and the replacement of major and minor drainage culverts • Erection of security fencing and street lighting in identified areas • Upgrading of existing major intersections and community access roads providing safe access to the N11 • Construction of paved sidewalks in identified areas. • Erosion protection and landscaping Bridge rehabilitation – Dorps, Rooisloot and Dithokeng rivers will include: • Demolishing of the existing bridges and construction of new bridges to address hydraulic inadequacies. • Backfilling and implementation of embankment protection measures of the river embankments. • Re-alignment of bridge infrastructure to improve the natural flow of the watercourses. Culverts • Upgrading or replacement of major and minor culverts along the route.
