ProposalDescription:

Proposed Additions and Alterations to Rem of portion 10 of Erf 1825 of Wentworth, 14 Lobelia Road, Ethekwini, KwaZulu-Natal Drawing 12-100, 12-200

Expanded_Motivation:

The existing dwelling on the site is over 60 years old and was originally built in the old Durban Verandah vernacular style architecture but over the years the heritage integrity of the dwelling has been compromised by alterations and additions. The New units are not designed in the same heritage style as the existing dwelling as the Client does not wish to construct the roofs with timber trusses he wants to use concrete roofs slabs as there is a problem with borer on this site. In addition there has been and are a lot of Renovations and new builds that have taken place and are taking place to the existing residential dwellings in Lobelia Road. The Architectural style of the dwellings and Apartments is very varied. The Clients intention is to to eventually replace the hipped roof of the existing dwelling with a flat concrete slab.
