Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The proposed upgrade and construction, which entails installation of stormwater management system and crossings, in Qhozo access road located within Kokwane A/A, ward 05, Bergville, within UThukela District Municipality, Kwa-Zulu-Natal Province, DC 23.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The Okhahlamba Local Municipality has commissioned Bi-infrastructure consulting to undertake the upgrade and construction of Qhozo access road. The road is situated within ward 05 of Okhahlamba Local Municipality within uThukela District Municipality.Bi-infrastructure has commissioned Isolendalo Environmental Consulting to undertake the process in terms of the amended EIA regulations 2014 in order to obtain the required Environmental Authorization following advise from the competent Authority (EDTEA). As part of the Public Participation Process, Amafa is being involved to provide a statutory comment. All the comments received from the stakeholders will be recorded and incorporated into the Final Basic Assessment Report, and they will be part of considerations made by the C.A. in granting or rejecting the application. A phase 1 archaeological and cultural heritage impact assessment was conducted by Vhubvo Archaeo-Heritage Consultants Cc, and is attached. The study notes that without a comment from Amafa, the study is made void.
