ProposalDescription:

The proposed alterations and additions to 260 Innes Road, Portion 1 of ERF 669, includes minor alterations to modernise the bathrooms on the Ground Floor and the addition of a study loft for 15 year old triplets in the existing roof.

Expanded_Motivation:

Built in 1910, the Edwardian house on 260 Innes Road has stood splendidly as time has taken its effects. The alterations proposed are not to alter, but to fully utilize and maintain all the spaces in the home, creating safe zones and learner study areas, and to access the view of the city of Durban. We intend to implement minor changes on the Ground Floor and incorporate a Loft space within the existing roof structure. Bathrooms will be modernised on the Ground Floor without affecting the building envelop. The Loft level will incorporate a new structure to support and maintain the roof in its historical form and style. No alterations will be made to the roof, apart from inserting unobtrusive skylight windows that will follow the roof slope and match the colour of the existing natural slate roof finish.
