Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Special Notice

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Project Name: Tutuka Solar Energy Facility. Applicant: Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. Proposed Activity: Construction of a 65.9MW solar energy facility and associated infrastructure within the Tutuka coal fired power station boundary near Standerton in Mpumalanga Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The proposed facility will comprise: Arrays of photovoltaic (PV) panels. Mounting structures to support the PV panels. Cabling between the project components. Inverters/transformer enclosures. An on-site substation or switching station. A power line to facilitate the connection of the solar energy facility to a substation located within the Tutuka power station Internal access roads. Buildings (which could include workshop area for maintenance and storage, and an on-site office) Location: The site is located on Eskom-owned land within the Tutuka coal fired power station boundary, on portion 4, 10, 11 and 12 of the farm Pretorius Vley 374 IS approximately 28 km north-east of Standerton in Mpumalanga Province. An area of ~55.4ha is intended to be utilised for the establishment of the 65.9MW PV facility. The site is located within the jurisdiction of Gert Sibande District Municipality and Lekwa Local Municipality.
