Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:
- A new & modernised look and layout
- Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
- Improved site performance and stability
Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Hi Jenty
Your comments are noted regarding changing Panda. In the interim, we have a large number of Panda licences which are expiring at the end of December, for which I was in the process of preparing a submission for renewal.
If you are intending to discontinue the use of Panda, what do you suggest I do with regards to new people joining during this financial year and (2) what do you suggest is used in the interim on the machines which are to expire soon ? Please advise.

Hope you sorted now. ESS does not work with IE. As I said telephonically, just use Google Chrome (which is a browser), as opposed to Internet Explorer (which is also a browser).

Hi Jon. I'm aware of the problem. This occurred after the gwise post office problem we encountered a few weeks ago. I spent considerable time trying to install the desktop client but one the machines you mention, it just would not work. Accessing mail remotely, untill the IT Technician starts in Jan is the only option for now, unless I get some time in December to sit there and try again.
The IT Manager is also looking at a long term solution in terms of the offices away from head office, like yourselves. I will keep you posted.

WCape / Grahamstown and SAT - need to be reviewed. They either need new servers / upgraded software etc. or they need to operate without servers and use a cloud based solution. The IT Manager to investigate and propose the way forward.

Phoned again. Spoke to S Daloyi. Sent another message to him whilst on the phone, still undelivered. Awaiting feedback from him, as he has indicated that he will contacted their IT person.
Problem resolved. Unblock request from hotmail/msn resolved.
